5 Makeup Artist tips to stop your makeup sliding this Summer
With the weather heating up and summer holidays on the horizon we quizzed James our in house Makeup Artist for his top tips on how to lock your makeup in place and stop it sliding in the sun.
To keep your base in place though the heat of the beach (or your morning commute) using a primer under your foundation is essential. Apply a pea sized amount of i-prime foundation primer all over your face, blending out in sweeping motions with your fingertips. The collagen boosting peptide formula works double time to refine skin texture and create a smooth canvas for foundation that beats the heat.
To conceal blemishes, under eye darkness and other areas of concern, use a liquid water based concealer rather than a cream stick or pot which can disappear from the skin in warm weather. I-conceal brush on concealer dries down to a demi matte finish and its lightweight, high pigment formula can be applied easily on the go. Simply dot on any areas of concern and pat into the skin with your fingertip.
Summer skin is all about the glow however throughout the course of the day an overall shiny face can be unflattering. Use a translucent pressed or loose powder on your t-zone (forehead, nose and chin) only to keep these areas slightly more matte and save creamy or luminous textures for the perimeter of the face or the eyes and lips.
To add lit from within radiance to your face without unflattering shine, dot i-crayon in brown sugar to the cheekbones and pat into the skin for a flush of nude dewy colour. Lock the colour in place with a sweep of Coral Crush i-glow over the top to add a summery apricot glow to the skin with a hint of golden highlight. Apply Brown sugar to the lips also for a universally flattering and hydrated nude pout.
For a long wearing easy summer eye, sweep Solar from the Smokey Essentials Palette all over the lid and buff into the crease. The molton bronze shade enhances any eye colour with a soft shimmer. Apply a touch of Luna eyeshadow to the inner corners of the eyes and the browbone for a glint of rose gold glamour. Finally, to avoid your liner smudging or transferring to your lid, apply i-flick liquid liner along the upper lash line for instant long wear definition and lift to the eye.
