At the end of January, our Warehouse Manager Kayleigh shaved her head raising thousands of pounds for Teddy 20 a local charity that supports the families of children and young people with cancer.
“Cancer doesn’t discriminate and you just never know when it might come to your life! As a mother of three I am acutely aware of the devastating impact that this news would have on MY family and I just wanted to support those families having to deal with this diagnosis
At first seeing my face without hair was a massive shock but thanks to the New CID team I quickly learned adaptations to my beauty routine to help boost back my confidence.”
These are my top 5 beauty tips for those with short/no hair:
If you are totally bald, my first tip is to understand the importance of i-prime and take the primer right across your head. This will help with the blending in my second tip and will also remove the shine from your head so it doesn’t reflect the light in photographs (my friend’s i-prime is often stolen by her husband for this very reason)!
When you lose the hair on your head you suddenly notice the hair on your face more! This means that normal blending lines won’t work and you need to take your i-perfection or i-tint all the way behind your ears, under your chin, down your neck, and then blend, blend, blend!
Brows matter! When you don’t have hair on your head, your eyebrows suddenly become the keyframing feature on your face. Take the time to use the i-groom and i-fix to make sure your brows are as neat as possible.
Having never been a lipstick/gloss wearer I suddenly realised that my lips needed the extra colour or they blended into my face. Bright is better and I have recently been rocking the Cherry Pop i-gloss in support of “Look Good Feel Better”.
Have fun with it! Shaving my head has made me realise how much I had ‘hidden’ behind my hair.
Having no hair has definitely made me more experimental with my make up and I have tried colours and shades that I never would have experimented with before!
